Trainer will primarily work remote, however, some travel to WI, OKL, MID MO, SIL and STL offices will be required less than 50% of the time. Create innovative training initiatives, communicate effectively, conducting researching, creating content, facilitating training sessions, meet with all clients regarding training opportunities across all regions and ministries, follow-up with clients regarding training across all regions and ministries, present surveys, shadow training sessions, co-facilitate with team members, PowerPoint presentations, cross train and coordinate/develop facilitate special projects as assigned by management.

This position facilitates classroom training and development programs within Revenue Cycle.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday- Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8 hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am-5:00pm CST. Subject to travel to different ministries in MO, SIL, OKL and WI. May include late afternoon training sessions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Planning, developing and presenting effective skills training, technical instruction and education materials for staff members within Revenue Cycle
  • Skills training includes proper handling of inquiries for patients and insurance companies, obtaining payment on outstanding balances, effective and efficient resolution of denied and outstanding claims and applying payment and denial information to patient accounts
  • Technical instruction includes efficient use of Epic, On-Base, vendor websites, electronic eligibility verification or other tools that support the revenue cycle process
  • Applies knowledge of adult learning principles to teach various types of learning content
  • Works collaboratively with management and subject matter experts to understand desired performance, assess learning needs, and develop appropriate training solutions
  • Monitors course participants' progress throughout assigned courses. Conducts post-training evaluations and analyzes results. Updates curricula and explores new materials for program participants
  • Takes action to stay abreast of current and evolving learning trends, instructional methods/techniques and emerging technologies
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher)
  • 5+ years of healthcare revenue cycle ((hospital and/or physician billing)) experience
  • 1+ years of experience with EPIC
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to locations in WI, OK, MID, MO, SIL and STL for training
  • Ability to travel to other SSM locations throughout the nation as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of facilitating training sessions
  • 1+ years of developing training content and education materials

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs
  • Rare climbing
