The Molecular COVID Lab Coordinator will be responsible for the daily operations of the Molecular Diagnostics COVID Laboratory. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, molecular laboratory COVID specimen receiving using LIS and HIS for order accessioning, labeling, delivery, and report preparation, assisting with problem resolution and follow-up with other UH departments and referring physicians, and answering phone calls, and delivering samples to labs for testing. The coordinator will oversee scheduling of staff in Molecular laboratory and maintain optimum workflow and environment, and will coordinate staffing, authorize time off requests, review employee entries and complete variance reports. In addition, the Coordinator will assist with the performance of COVID molecular tests, and compliance with regulatory standards, and research and development of new assays, assure that all testing is performed timely and accurately, and will be responsible for communicating with outside clients regarding patient demographics, specimen delivery, test results and timeliness of reporting.
Bachelors degree and 2 years experience in a supervisory/administrative role in a laboratory setting. Will consider candidates with an equivalent combination of education (to include pertinent college level courses preferably related to a medical field) and experience.
Bachelors Degree in a relevant medical or scientific field. Experience with molecular diagnostics.
Mon-Fri day shift varying hours between 7:30 am and 6pm; weekends/holidays as needed
