To safely re-open the University of South Carolina Columbia campus, University Health Services is seeking a COVID-19 Outbreak Response Supervisor with availability primarily during weeknight evenings and weekends. Under the general supervision of Associate Director for Healthy Carolina Initiatives, the incumbent will take an active supervision role with the Contact Tracing and Phone Bank student staff to include populating contact tracing module with any new positive results from testing, monitor module to ensure documentation is consistent and correct, correctly answering questions that arise during tracing interviews or through the phone bank, providing follow-up where appropriate to students, faculty, staff or parents. The nature of this position will require the COVID-19 Outbreak Response supervisor to adhere to HIPAA, FERPA and other confidentiality regulations. Basic FERPA and HIPAA trainings will be provided. Some additional opportunities include:
1. Applied public health and data analytics experience during a global pandemic on a higher education campus.
2. Learning and applying contact tracing, case management, crisis management techniques such as effective interviewing, clear and concise communication, motivational interviewing and customer services.
3. Provide valuable services to the Carolina Community through prompt case isolation and prevention of excessive transmission, effective communication of campus updates to faculty, staff, students, parents and visitors.
